Science Competition By Intel Held on Pittsburg

International youth science competition level (International Science and Engineering Fair) sponsored Intel officially opened on Monday (5/14/2012) night time Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.

Approximately 1,500 of participants from 68 countries, including six high school students from Indonesia, attended the opening of the competition will compete for total prize money of 3 million U.S. dollars. Will be cash prizes and scholarships.

In the opening ceremony, featuring Benjamin Gulak committee, Chairman & CEO of BPG-Werks as the keynote speaker. Gulak is famous for creating The Uno, environmentally friendly electric-powered vehicle that resembles a unicycle (one-wheeled bicycle) motor. Gulak three-time finalist ISEF competition, namely 2004, 2006, and 2007.

Gulak deliberately shown to stimulate the participants thought that the project or the work they can be a very promising business opportunity. Gulak share the recipe of what the teens need to know in order to become entrepreneurs in the future.

Meanwhile, Elizebth Marincola, President of the Society for Science & the Public (SSP), which is the organizer of ISEF, in his written claim, the Intel ISEF finalists has the potential to help solve many problems of the world that sucks. Participants also can help the global community to realize the best.

Six Indonesian student participants of the competition which will end on Friday was Muhammad Lutfi Nurfakhiri of SMAN 1 Bogor, West Java; Efa Fazriyah Haryono and Marwah Zairah of SMAN I Malimping, Bantam; and Aulia Azka Januartika, Anas Nurrochman Mufid, and Amelia Nugrahanigrum of SMAN 1 Yogyakarta. They are the winners of Youth Scientific Contest held Field of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences in 2011.

Lutfi will showcase the work stubs "Optic Sensor as a Tool for Nitrogen Fertilizer Use Efficiency in Rice". Efa and Marwah make collaborative work titled "Paper Antirayap of Rice Straw with Addition of Soursop Leaf". While Aulia, Anas, and Amelia will be exhibiting work titled "The design of the Cold Lava Dam breaking."

Indonesia started sending participants in 2010. Last year, Indonesia won a special award participants, namely the category of China Association for Science and Technology.

ISEF stems from the National Science Fair is designed SSP, which became known as Science Service, in 1950. In 1958, the show became an international event for the first time when Japan, Canada, and Germany joined. Intel ISEF official main sponsor since 1997 and is committed to supporting the event until 2019.
